Dr. K. Sridhar, also known as Dr. Krish Sridhar, is one of India’s most celebrated neurosurgeons and the Group Mentor – Neurosciences and Director, Institute of Brain & Spine at Kauvery Hospital, Radial Road, Chennai. With more than three decades of experience, he is noted for his pioneering work in awake cranial surgery and complex cervical spine surgery, along with brain tumour, skull base and cerebrovascular surgery.

A graduate of Madras Medical College, he trained in neurosurgery for five years under Prof. B. Ramamurthi, one of the founders of Indian neurosurgery, qualifying as a Diplomate of the National Board in Neurosurgery (1990). He then trained with world pioneers — Prof. Madjid Samii (Hannover, Germany), Prof. M. Gazi Yaşargil (Zurich, Switzerland), Prof. Kenichiro Sugita (Nagoya, Japan) and Prof. M. Gaab (Greifswald, Germany) for neuroendoscopy.

He has established Neuroscience Centres of Excellence at leading institutions across India — including Gleneagles Global Health City and Fortis Malar in Chennai, and the National Neurosciences Centre in Kolkata — promoting an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to neuro care. He is the President of the Neurological Society of India, edited the Textbook of Operative Neurosurgery, and has published widely in national and international peer-reviewed journals.
